What we teach and how we do it
The first step of our tutoring is to learn about the student. Things we look for are how much time we have to prepare, the student characteristics, and the expectations.
Using the information gathered while getting to know the student, we then put together a plan that we believe will help the student succeed over the given time frame.
The tutor and the student work together as a team to execute the plan that was developed. Tutors will monitor student progress and make adjustments to the plan as necessary.
With each skill, we need to first identify what level a student is currently at and where they need to be.
We then break the skill down into an easier form so that the student understands its mechanics.
Finally the student will progress through problems that steadily become more difficult in order to gain confidence.
